38-0-0 Formations: All Six Shapes
Your formation decides which eleven positions you have to fill before you ever touch the wheel — and it locks from the first spin. Here is exactly what each of the six shapes demands, straight from the game's own slot data.
What each shape asks of your draft

The rules behind the slots
- Centre-back slots accept only centre-backs. No holding midfielder dropping in, no full-back sliding across. This is why the three- and five-at-the-back shapes are the hardest drafts: elite centre-backs are the scarcest thing the wheel offers.
- Wide slots are forgiving. Wing-back slots take wide midfielders and full-backs; wide-midfield slots take wingers. If your football knowledge lives in attack, 4-4-2 lets you spend it.
- The trequartista slot is the most flexible in the game. In 4-2-3-1 the No.10 position accepts playmakers, central mids and wingers — a safety valve when the wheel refuses to hand you a Totti.
- Wingers can lead the line. Striker slots accept wide attackers, so a 4-3-3 can absorb an extra winger; the reverse — a striker on the wing — also works.
Which formation should you pick?
Chasing your first strong run? 4-4-2 or 4-3-3: four-man defences need only two centre-backs, and the forward slots absorb whatever attacking talent the wheel throws at you.
Confident and want ceiling? 4-2-3-1 builds around a world-class No.10 — and Serie A history is absurdly rich in them. The highest-rated players in our database cluster exactly there.
Want bragging rights? A 38-0-0 in 5-3-2 means you drafted three elite centre-backs from random spins. The leaderboard doesn't mark formations, but you'll know.
