Hidden Ratings: Drafting Blind
Hidden ratings mode is 38-0-0 Serie A for people who actually know their calcio. Every overall becomes a question mark, and you find out what you built only when the eleven is complete.
What actually changes
- Overalls are hidden. Every player shows a question mark instead of a number, for the whole draft.
- The squad list is shuffled. This is the detail people miss: with ratings visible the list is ordered by strength, so "just take the top name" always works. Hidden mode scrambles the order — the first name might be the squad's weakest player.
- The reveal comes at the end. Once your XI is locked, ratings appear and you see exactly what you drafted — right before the 38 matchdays decide if your memory was as good as you thought.
How to draft well without numbers
- Think in eras, not names. "Milan mid-2000s" or "Juventus mid-90s" tells you more than recognising one star in an otherwise weak year. A famous name in a relegation season is the classic blind-mode trap.
- Anchor on career shape. A spin lands on Fiorentina 01/02 — was that player in his prime there, or was it a last-season stopover? The database is built from real squads, so a legend's twilight year is rated like one.
- Positions still rule. All the formation slot rules apply. Knowing that a name you recognise is really a trequartista and not a striker is worth more here than anywhere else in the game.
- Save the rerolls for recognition, not ratings. With numbers gone, your two rerolls are best spent escaping squads you simply don't know — an era you can't read is a blind spin twice over. More draft economy in the tips page.
Why bother?
Because the leaderboard remembers. Hidden-ratings runs face the same 38 opponents as everyone else, but the draft skill they demand is different in kind — a perfect season built blind is the game's ultimate flex.
